Play golf on one of the highest golf courses
Are you a golf enthusiast? Our resort is surrounded by the 27-hole golf course of International Golf Maastricht, one of the highest golf courses in the Netherlands. The golf course is on both Dutch and Belgian soil and offers great views of the beautiful woodlands, lanes and meadows. A great activity for young and old!
And in addition to this, it is only a 35-minute drive from our resort to the 45-hole golf course of Golf Henri Chapelle. This golf course is situated in the middle of the Belgian Ardennes, on the beautiful green hills.
Explore the underground cave and tunnel system in Maastricht
Do you like a bit of excitement? Explore Maastricht Underground. This underground cave and tunnel system was dug by human hands and served as a shelter during the war. It had a sick bay, a bakery, a chapel and wells. You can now explore the tunnels - which feature many carved drawings and unique charcoal scenes - with a guide. You can explore the caves on foot, but you can also go on a Bike or scooter. There is a special Kids’ Cave Tour for children. Perhaps this is all a bit too exciting for you? Go on a wine trip and sample local quality wines
Are you a wine lover? Go on a wine trip during your stay at our resort! The wine regions in Limburg and surroundings have developed into a successful wine production area with delicious quality wines. During your wine trip you will visit different wineries in the area and learn more about the process of wine production. Of course you can also sample the superb quality wines during this flavoursome activity. You can go on your wine trip on foot, by Bike, by car, by bus or even by hot-air balloon. Cheers!
Explore the beautiful Limburg hills
Visit the unique Three-Country Point in Vaals, which is only a 35-minute drive from our resort. Climb one of the viewing towers and enjoy unique views of the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, or find your way in the labyrinth.
We would also certainly recommend exploring the impressive surroundings by bike during your stay at our resort. Have you not brought your bike? No problem! You can rent a bike or e-bike at Bike Rental Dousberg at our resort. At the reception desk and the bike rent shop we will be happy to give you tips about the most beautiful bike rides and places to visit in this lovely area.
Enjoy Maastricht from the water
You can explore the beautiful surroundings of Maastricht on foot or by Bike, but of course you can also do so from the water! Get into a kayak and go along the beautiful river section of Grensmaas, which will take you through a stunning nature conservation area. Or Rent a dingy and cruise along the River Maas through the vibrant city centre of Maastricht and under St Servaas Bridge. In Maastricht, there is something to suit everyone! For example, enjoy the traditional summer evening concerts of André Rieu on Vrijthof, explore the magical winter wonderland of Magisch Maastricht in December, visit the annual Maastricht carnival, “Vastelaovend in Mestreech”, or go to one of the other excellent events in Maastricht!
Enjoy the best parks for the whole family
There are many family-friendly parks in the area that are certainly worth a visit! We would recommend a visit to GaiaZOO with the whole family. It has been named best zoo of the Benelux three times. Families with small children are put under a spell at Plopsa Indoor in Hasselt or at Kinderstad Heerlen. Both are indoor parks and are only half an hour by car from the resort. A perfect activity when you get a day when the weather is not so good!
Explore the rich history of Maastricht
The city of Maastricht is well known for its rich history and beautiful historic buildings. Visit the treasure chamber in the Basilica of Our Lady, with an impressive collection of sculptures, paintings, engravings and much more. Or admire the traditional and modern art with amazing light effects in the Intimate Museum on Vrijthof! Visit the famous Bonnefantenmuseum or the interesting War Museum.

In South Limburg you will find one of the most remarkable and best-preserved castles in Europe: Hoensbroek Castle! In 2022, ANWB (the Royal Dutch Touring Club) even named Hoensbroek Castle the most beautiful castle in the Netherlands. This beautiful castle is situated just outside Heerlen and will make a great impression on both young and old.
