Ski area Le Grand Massif in Flaine
With 265 kilometres of pistes, Le Grand Massif is the eighth largest contiguous ski area in France. The area has an altitude from 900 to as much as 2500 metres and has magnificent panoramic views of the French side of the famous Mont Blanc. The pistes are surrounded by beautiful landscapes and pine forests and offer a wonderful view of Mont Blanc. The best-known ski village in Le Grand Massif is Flaine. This is where you will find Dormio Resort Les Portes Du Grand Massif. But the ski area comprises four other authentic, smaller villages: Les Carroz, Morillon, Samoëns and Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval. The many ski pistes are well connected and provide a great day out in the snow.

This is also the perfect place for freestylers: the three largest snow parks in Europe are situated in this ski area! In Flaine you will find the so-called Jampark, Samoëns has the tricks paradise Jampark Cool and Morillon is home to Jampark Kids. In all parks you will find spectacular jump modules and a boarder cross.

Would you like to make a long ski journey? In that case, we would recommend the Cascades run! This ski run is 14 kilometres long, and you won’t see any ski lifts along the way.

There are many things you can do in Flaine other than skiing! For example, you can make a trip on a snow scooter or you can go to an indoor climbing wall. Have you ever gone sledding or would you like to do a walk on Bigfoots? These are also things you can do in Flaine!
Make use of the winter sports facilities at our resort
At our resort, you can use the ski lockers and ski boot warmer. From the resort you can take the free ski bus, which stops right beside the resort. It will take you to the ski lift quickly for an active day among snow-covered mountain walls and pine forests. To get back to the resort, you can get onto the ski bus again in the centre of Flaine for a comfortable return journey. The bus will drop you off at your doorstep. There is also a branch of Sport2000 to rent your winter sports equipment.
