This is a great destination for a nice walk or enjoying a drink on a terrace. You will find the largest and most exciting labyrinth of the Netherlands here. You will find many interesting mining remains in this town; this is a great town to find out more about the mining past on foot. Natuurpark Hoge Kempen is a unique park with one of the most remarkable landscapes in Flanders. This is the perfect place to go for a walk while enjoying the natural environment at the same time. And the outlet boutiques of Maasmechelen Village are a great place to go shopping.

The Belgian town of Maasmechelen is only 15 minutes by car from our hotel. This lively town is situated just across the border, in the middle of the Haspengouw castle area. The impressive Alden Bilzen Castle, where the Grand Commander used to live, is the jewel in the Bilzen crown and is certainly worth a visit! Here you will also find impressive moated castles, large castle grounds, breathtaking views of the surroundings and fruit trees.
Tip: Visit Alden Biesen in the evening and allow yourself to be surprised by the spectacular images, sounds and lights of the night-time video walk “Bilzen Mysteries”.
